Hints:

Draw in Isometric from the Top and Front Views

Right click on the ISODRAFT button at the bottom and change the settings as follows:

To draw the circles you will draw ELLIPSES using the Isometric feature as follows:

If you are unable to find the ISODRAFT button. You can type the following command in the command like to activate the ISODRAFT feature.

Command: SNAPSTYL <enter>

Enter a new value for SNAPSPTYL <0>: 1 <enter>

To return to grid snap style type:

Command: SNAPSTYL <enter>

Enter a new value for SNAPSPTYL <1>: 0 <enter>

  • Select Ellipse – Axis, End – and then enter “I” for Isometric then specify the middle of the ellipse (center of box) and the edge of the ellipse (the midpoint of a box side).

  • Make sure you are on the proper Isometric Plane Mode (cursor should line up to center lines) – Use F5 to change between modes.

 

To round the edges you need to create ellipses (a fillet will NOT work as it creates arcs which are parts of circles)

Add shading in hole and along the edge as below:

  • Draw a line through the middle of the ellipse longer than needed
  • Copy the line with them closer together near the ends
  • Trim lines to the ellipse
